Barista Job Description

The Barista is responsible for the preparation of timely and accurate espresso, smoothies and tea orders using friendly and personalized service. This is a tipped position.

Essential Job Functions

Provide personable and efficient service to our Guests while adhering to

Correct food and beverage specifications
Correct pouring, recipes, measures, and garnishes
Specified glassware and to go packaging
Correct presentation and service of all food and beverage
Set up and maintain all operations within the barista station
Ensure excellent cleanliness and sanitation standards
Maintain proper levels of stock throughout shift including barista supplies and product
Perform all closing/opening duties and make certain the barista station is clean and ready for the next shift
Complete transactions using the POS system, including accurate cash handling
Assist in updating the manager of supply needs for Barista station
Properly fill all to-go orders
Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Attend all scheduled staff meetings
Read and follow posted shift schedules
Abide by Taste of Belgium Uniform and Grooming Guidelines
Follow all rotation procedures to ensure freshness of products including the maintenance of all coolers

Requirements

Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Position requires frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs, bending and twisting
Heavy lifting of up to 25 lbs may be required
Barista experience in high volume atmosphere preferred but not required
Excellent guest service skills
Team player attitude
Ability to multitask
