Job Duties and Responsibilities:
This position requires flexible availability between the hours of 10 AM and 6 PM.
- Conduct daily bread bakes according to the bake schedule determined by the bread manager
- Hand shaping a variety of different loaves of bread into the correct shape to be scored and baked
- Following product specifications set forth by owners and management for the bake
- Abiding by proper storage and product rotation procedures
- Work in an organized and timely fashion to facilitate the day's production
Success in this position is generally exhibited by those who:
- Are able to stand, walk, lift 30-50 lbs, and bend somewhat repetitively for the duration of an 8-hour shift
- Work safely in a bakery production environment which includes hot ovens, sharp utensils, and heavy equipment
- Display high levels of motivation, autonomy, and attention to detail
- Are aware of the physical demands of this position as it is labor-intensive and involves repetitive motion
- Are comfortable with working in warmer than normal working conditions with temperatures anywhere between 82 and 90 degrees during summer months
