Jubilee Market is opening a new grocery at 145 West Street in Greenpoint, which will be our flagship store. You will be a part of the opening team of our newest grocery.
We are searching for a seasoned butcher to join our butcher/deli department. You will be hands-on in supporting not only your fellow butchers and deli clerks, as well as occasionally coordinating between other departments within the grocery.
We work with local purveyors to source great ingredients, and showcase them in our cafe and through the production of value-added products. Our goal is to showcase the highest caliber of hospitality possible, meaning our guests should always feel at home and welcome. Our food should always reach above and beyond expectations, and our attention to detail should exceed our competitors.

Qualifications
Minimum
- 1+ Years Experience working as a butcher and/or deli clerk
- Basic knowledge of safe handling for knives and bladed equipment
- NYC Food Handler’s License
- Ability to work as a team
- Timeliness
Preferred
- Experience with Whole Animal Butchery
- Interest in sustainable and ethical meat production
- Interest in positively sharing knowledge with guest
Responsibilities
- Work as a team to deliver a great experience for our guests
- Correct and timely preparation of various meat products for the deli department
- Work in accordance to recipe guidelines and specifications
- Follow proper food safety guidelines
- Follow proper sanitation guidelines and maintain a clean station
- Coordinate positively with and assist other team members when necessary
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs if necessary
- Comfortable walking or standing for long periods, often entire shifts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Safe handling of equipment (bandsaws, deli slicers)
