SUMMARY
The Line Cook plays a key role in delivering a consistent, elevated guest experience by executing dishes with precision, care, and professionalism. This position requires culinary confidence, an eagerness to learn, and high personal standards that support a chef-driven kitchen environment.
Line Cooks support the daily operations of the kitchen, including opening and closing procedures, station preparation, and service execution. They report directly to the Sous Chefs and Chef de Cuisine and are responsible for preparing dishes to specification while upholding strict standards of safety, sanitation, quality, and consistency.

- Carry out the culinary philosophy of the owners and Culinary Director, maintaining high attention to detail and consistency.
- Represent Ama professionally through effective communication and collaboration with staff, vendors, and community partners.
- Contribute to a kitchen culture grounded in respect and equity, fostering an environment where staff can learn, grow, and develop.
- Partner with the leadership team to uphold Ama’s reputation for excellence in food, hospitality, and guest experience.
- Offer thoughtful, solutions-oriented input during decision-making processes.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a thorough understanding of safe cleaning, handling, and sanitizing practices in a commercial kitchen.
- Work with a positive, team-driven attitude, demonstrating urgency and a willingness to grow and develop.
- Lift and transport items over 50 lbs.
- Perform physical tasks including kneeling, bending, reaching overhead, and working in small or cramped spaces.
- Work in environments with high heat, cold storage, and varying temperatures.
- Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Thrive both independently and in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen.
- Commit to growth within a chef-driven, technique-focused culinary environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of kitchen experience in a fine-dining or high-volume restaurant setting.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift), bend, lift up to 30 lbs., and operate effectively in dynamic kitchen conditions.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Hourly Rate
$18.00 – $24.00 per hour, paid in accordance with the payroll schedule.
