Bludso's BBQ in Santa Monica is seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing and cooking our delicious barbecue dishes with precision and consistency, ensuring that our guests receive high-quality meals in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of barbecue dishes following established recipes and guidelines
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment
- Ensure that food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and presentation standards
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely delivery of orders
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying the supervisor of any shortages or discrepancies
- Adhere to portion control and waste reduction guidelines to minimize food costs
- Assist in the development and improvement of menu items and recipes
- Support the team in maintaining a positive and cooperative work environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and food safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing consistently high-quality dishes
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment as required
