Position Summary:
The Pizza Cook is responsible for the preparation, baking, and cutting of deep dish, thin crust, and artisan pizzas. They work under the direction of the Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager, ensuring that all food is prepared with quality ingredients, following recipes, and presented impeccably. The cook plays an essential role in our guests' dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas, including deep dish, thin crust, and artisan pizzas.
- Portion and prepare ingredients in advance for daily use.
- Follow all food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation of ingredients.
- Cook dishes to order, with a focus on consistency, flavor, and presentation.
- Serve dishes according to restaurant standards to ensure their quality and appeal.
- Ensure that each dish is cooked to the correct temperature and with the proper seasoning.
- Clean and disinfect workstations, utensils, and equipment at the end of each shift.
- Comply with safety and hygiene protocols to maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Dispose of food waste properly and maintain cleanliness throughout the shift.
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies and ingredients in the kitchen.
- Report any shortages or quality issues with ingredients to the Kitchen Manager.
- Work efficiently to ensure food is prepared and served on time, especially during peak hours.
- Manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus on the quality of the dishes.
- Stay up-to-date on menu items, daily specials, and any changes to the food offering.
- Accommodate special requests or dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.).
Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience as a pizza cook in a similar restaurant.
Skills: Solid knowledge of pizza preparation, including stretching dough, distributing sauce, cheese, and toppings.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, work in hot environments, and lift heavy objects.
Certifications: Food Safety Certification.
