Job Overview

A Dishwasher plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring all dishware, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. Using both machine and manual cleaning methods, you will uphold sanitation standards and contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary dishwashing area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sort, rinse, and wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashing equipment and by hand as needed.
  • Ensure all items are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored in designated areas.
  • Set up and break down the dishwashing area, ensuring proper organization and cleanliness.
  • Rewash soiled dishes before delivering to the cook's line or proper storage areas.
  • Maintain a steady flow of clean dishes during busy service periods.
  • Change dishwater in the dish machine as needed to maintain sanitation standards.
  • Keep dishwashing station and surrounding areas clean and organized.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness in all kitchen areas, including floors, counters, and storage spaces.
  • Remove trash and recycling promptly, dispose of waste properly, and sweep up around the exterior and dumpster areas.
  • Sweep and mop floors, wipe up spills, and ensure kitchen floors remain dry and safe.
  • Clean and roll/unroll mats, as well as fill and empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
  • Assemble and disassemble dishwashing equipment as needed.
  • Assist with general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Ensure dishwashing chemicals are used correctly and safely.
  • Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions, including dish machine wash or rinse cycles that fall below safety standards.
  • Follow all MHRG company policies, procedures, and safety protocols to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • Work efficiently to support kitchen staff by maintaining a steady supply of clean dishware.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Assist with basic kitchen prep tasks when needed.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and complete required training through the company's training portal.
  • Maintain dress code and uniform standards, demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.
  • Perform other tasks, including cross-training in different areas, as assigned bymanagement.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous dishwasher or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays.
  • Flexible schedule helpful.
  • Valid Food Handler Certificate required.
