Position Summary:
A host contributes to the success of our company by demonstrating exceptional hospitality at the beginning and end of each guest’s dining experience by greeting, seating, and cashing out guests. The host assists take-out guest and delivery orders by inputting and assembling orders, checking orders for accuracy, and delivering them to the guest or delivery driver and cashing them out. In addition, a host maintains the cashier and foyer areas in a clean and orderly manner throughout their shift.

Essential Functions:

- Embodies Gastamo’s core values and mission in daily interactions by delivering heartfelt hospitality, attention to detail, and a team-first mindset.
- Provide a high level of hospitality to guests and delivery drivers entering and leaving the restaurant. Make an effort to recognize regular guests.
- Answer the restaurant’s phone and assist with guests’ inquiries.
- Warmly acknowledge and greet guests as they arrive at the restaurant, escort and seat guests to an appropriate table, assist guest with special seating requirements.
- Assist with table bussing, being aware of what tables are clean and ready to be sat.
- Maintain an organized and accurate waiting list when immediate seating is not available.
- Present menus, the specials of the day, suggest beverages if time allows.
- Cash out guest’s check by accurately processing various forms of payments and discounts.
- Actively promote the sale of retail items.
- Possess menu knowledge to take and process guest phone-in, walk-in, online and delivery take-out orders.
- Prepare take-out salads, side items, beverages, and desserts.
- Garnish and package take-out orders, ensuring that all orders are complete, accurate and have all needed condiments.
- Greet take-out guests and delivery drivers, cash out take-out orders as needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance, including personal hygiene, and report to work as scheduled, in uniform and ready to work.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with coworkers and the management team, graciously offer and accept help when needed.
- Handle guest complaints in a professional manner and notify management of any guest complaint.
- Keep the foyer, cash area, take-out area and bathrooms, organized and stocked, complete side work during non-busy hours.
- Protect restaurant guests by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested.
